The school dance team is known as the Arrowettes. The group has been in existence since it was founded in 1964 as a drill team. The organization is based on the Kilgore College Rangerettes of Texas. Since their beginning, the group has performed creative dance drills, excellent high kicks, and outstanding half-time routines.
In addition to performing to the Camper audience, the Arrowettes have performed at college games, Pro Bowl football games, Baltimore Colts football games, and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. The team has also participated in national competition. In their last national competition, they placed tenth in high kick and eighth in pom routines.
In recent years the dance performances and uniforms of the Arrowettes have been changed to reflect more up-to-date styles. However, the group continues to excel as the team members perform their famous high kick and dance routines at Allegany football and basketball games. They also participate in community service activities such as the Breast Cancer Walk.
